About Wineglass Bay and Freycinet National Park
Freycinet National Park sits on Tasmania's east coast. It is known for its pink granite peaks, called the Hazards, and the bright white sands of Wineglass Bay. Visitors can access the area via Coles Bay. You need a valid Tasmania National Parks Pass to enter.
You can view the bay from above or from the water. The famous Wineglass Bay Lookout track is a 2.6 km return hike taking up to 1.5 hours. For water access, 150-seat catamarans depart Coles Bay for a 4.5-hour journey along the coast. Read our guide to the Walk vs. Cruise for help deciding.
Marine wildlife is common in the area. Dolphins and fur seals live along the peninsula. Whales migrate through these waters from September to December and May to July. Learn more about Wineglass Bay Cruises.
